Myadestes lanaiensis rutha (1 Viewer)

Roland from Holland
The key correctly names Ruth May Goss as the dedicatee in the scientific name of the sadly extinct Olomao from Molokai. She was the wife of the describer William Alanson Bryan. Details of her birth date are lacking. According to here, she was born in May 1874 and died on 5 February 1904. Perhaps somebody can confirm? Roland

Well done guys! (y)

Side-track from Mrs Bryan ...

Also note that the Key (apparently, for some, whatever reason) seems to hesitate on the second one, on Mrs Chapin:
rutha
Ruth Goss Bryan (d. 1904) wife of US zoologist Prof. William A. Bryan (‡subsp. Myadestes lanaiensis).

ruthae
Ruth Chapin née Trimble (fl. 1958) US field ornithologist, collector, second wife of Dr James P. Chapin (subsp. Anthoscopus flavifrons, subsp. Estrilda paludicola, subsp. Fraseria cinerascens).

The latter was earlier dealt with (back in April 2021), in her own thread, here.

/B
