Name a Bird You've Seen 2 (20 Viewers)

A woodpecker... I have 2 of those left and the one below is easy (an E vs. W Himalaya split), at least I hope I have the right one as the names are a bit confusing (Crimson-naped Woodpecker (Scarlet-breasted Woodpecker) = E Himalayas, but its congener = Necklaced Woodpecker is probably less seen among BF members? Necklaced Woodpecker - Dryobates pernyii - Birds of the World )
#9819 Crimson-naped Woodpecker

21st of April 2022 in the middle of Bugun Liocichla prime territory.

I'm new on this thread. I was wondering which World bird list is to be used ?
Burmese Myna has been split from Vinous-breasted Myna since V13.1 (2023) of the IOC list.
When a species is split after it's been played we have to make a decision as to which of the two new ones has been played and which is available. In this case, for reasons I don't recall, I thought that Burmese had been played and Vinous-breasted was still available.

However I've just checked more thoroughly and I see one of Will's very helpful life list posts says his lifer for the old species was seen in Thailand. So Burmese Mynah is actually fine.

Burmese Myna goes back in as 9809 and all subsequent bird numbers go up by one.

Apologies - you've uncovered an error in the Reverse List. When Will played the original unsplit species he must have been playing Crimson-naped because that's on his life list on Bubo and Necklaced isn't. So you can have Necklaced if you've seen that but Crimson-naped wasn't available.

Here are the last few species again, with the numbering corrected:

9818 Slaty Gnateater
9819 Northern Sooty Woodpecker
9820 Bundok Flycatcher
9821 Damar Flycatcher
9822 Fly River Grassbird

Surrounded by water (Negros is a smallish island) and seen above a dry river bed

9824 Negros Scops Owl - Liptong Woodland, Negros Philippines Feb 2025

From a species named after a Polish naturalist (second part of the scientific name kubaryi - John Stanislaw Kubary) to a species with its vernacular name named after another 19th century European naturalist (Johann Jakob von Tschudi) - both of whom collected for German museums...

9831. Tschudi's Nightjar Quechuavis decussata Peru 27th March 2025

All the best
