Need ID for a Tyrannid flycatcher from Costa Rica (1 Viewer)

At 26. April we observed this mystery bird near Arenal reservoir in NW Costa Rica. Immature Black Phoebe with no wing-pattern? Thanks a lot in advance for a short answer or confirmation respectively. Michael

Black Phoebe for me. They can be a bit variable. Birds in that area have somewhat reduced wing white

Very brownish colors but I cannot see what else it can be.

It simply extremely worn and sun-bleached. Look at the state of the upper tail coverts for the extent of general feather wear.

Wing pattern varies from an area to another, depending on the subspecies. You might enjoy some photos of different subspecies here, some with white in wings, some with no white.
