Other nice sightings today were kingfisher, peregrine, med.gull and a few swallows still on passage.

146. Yellow-browed warbler

Showing well and calling, after I travelled 10 miles for this twitch.
No chance of a digiscope though, it was very mobile.

18/10/10 and 20/10/10 Pendle hill and Waddington fell

149. Black redstart

I've found Black redstart on Pendle hill before. This one was associating with a 1st winter wheatear in terrible weather conditions. I didnt manage a record shot of the Black redstart.
Our Great grey shrike has returned to its usual haunt on Waddington fell and another Black redstart has been found up there too. I managed shots of both birds today (in much better weather conditions).

I had the grey plover lined up in my scope for what would have been a nice close range digiscoped photo. But when I reach into my pocket I found that the camera was still in the van GRRR.
By the time I'd got back from retrieving the camera the grey plover had gone but these barwits were just in range.
