Can we stick to Swarovski new product rumours and not 7x popularity please.
😜😁Here's a poem what ChatGPT wrote...
The raised fist is a sign of defiance
A gesture of solidarity and alliance
A symbol of resistance and persistence
A salute to freedom and justice
The raised fist has a history of struggle
A legacy of fighting oppression and trouble
A message of hope and empowerment
A vision of equality and liberation
The raised fist is more than a hand
It is a voice that demands
It is a will that stands
It is a spirit that commands
Mustve been chatgpt3.5 or 4.0. Gotta wait for GPT6, that will be a rational entity 🤭. God help us all.Profound thoughts from a non-rational entity?
I remain unconvinced.
If one says this poem outloud, it comes off as an imitation of a rap from Hamilton. Here's a poem what ChatGPT wrote...

I don’t think he can read you 🤣I am flattered! 😁
That’s an interesting thought.And from the original EL 8.5x42 and 10x42 offerings, one could infer that a 7x42 was considered at the planning stages;
since 7x to 8.5x to 10x provides an even increase to magnification, compared to the usual 7x to 8x to 10x sequence.

I would like to see Swarovski come out with some lighter models to compete with the Zeiss SFL 8x30 and 8x40. Something like an 8x30 ELL with a normal 8 degree FOV and a weight of about 16 oz. priced under $2000. The NL 8x42 and 10x42 with their complex eyepieces have just gotten to be too heavy and bulky. On another track . . .

In relation to 7x (and other less popular magnifications) . . .
As with most industries, the leading optical manufacturers use a multitude of a computer aided design, production and stock management processes.
So firstly, at the design stage it would be easy to include a 7x model when designing a x25, x30/32, x40/42 or x50 lineup
(likely very easy, since less eyepiece 'lens power' is needed than with higher magnifications) *
And secondly, flexible/ computerised production setup and run techniques, enable production lines to be rapidly switched between different products
e.g. the three premium manufactures all currently include various lines of hand held optics, spotting scopes, and telescopic sights.
The problem in offering less popular models would seem to be concern about unwanted stock on hand, either with the manufacturer or a retailer.
However, a form of production on demand/ limited production several times of year, would seem to be a workable solution.
Swarovski has long done this with the traditional Habicht line (along with the traditional draw tube telescopes). Very few stockists keep them on hand,
so they mostly need to be specially ordered. In my experience far from Austria, on two occasions it was only a matter of a few weeks wait.
So it would seem simple to list something like a 7x32 NL along with an asterisk, indicating that it's a special order item with some delay involved.

A 10x50 NL might come close to the Nikon WX 10x50, and it would be a lot of lighter, but it would probably cost $4000.Being able to buy “custom” models (from a list of possible optional features) like people do now for cars would be interesting, especially if it’s just a drop in change of optics etc. Offer the options, but don’t tie up an entire set of tooling for each one, let people decide what they like.
New Swarovski…. Maybe a 10x50 to beat the mythical WX?? (Without the mass) A battle of the optical designers?!
