budle bay today
looking for red breasted goose amongst a huge flock of pinkfoot,brent and barbacle which we couldn't find so took some kit and hope shots.
no luck but found this .
what is it please as head looks too darka and with steep forehead for pinkfoot but i cant think of anything else.

Hello Les,

yes you can stick with your ID as a Pink footed Goose imo.
Sooty-black hue of the head is matched by the other PFGs in your picture, apart from the sitting bird, so I think its partly due to light and camera.
Apart from that, jizz and stubby bill with only a narrow pink band is spot on.

Conclusion? yes, I can confirm your ID
