Hi geopap

Its getting better day by day.
1.Lapwing plover [vanellus armartus]
2.lapwing plover in flight pattern.
3.Lilac brested roller.
4.Pigmy kingfisher.
5.woodland kingfisher

Cheers Nicky!

Hi Geopap,
Unfortunately, I have to disagree with Nicky on a couple of these.

1+2. The flight pattern is that of a Senegal Lapwing (Vanellus lugubris). Notice the white secondaries.

3. Definately is a Lilac-breasted Roller (Coracia caudata)

4. Malachite Kingfisher (Alcedo cristat). The blue extends all the way down the the eye, while in Pygmy it is only a crown strip.

5. Mangrove Kingfisher (Halcyon senegaloides). In Woodland Kingfisher, the lower mandible would be black rather than red. I'm assuming this was taken near the coast as well?

Cheers,
Benji

Would agree with Benji: Malachite & Mangrove Kingfisher. I took similar pics myself in coastal Kenya last month.
I also think the Vanellus is lugubris though on this I'm less sure!
