Puffins on the Isle of Wight? (1 Viewer)

I'm going over to the Isle of Wight some time soon time, and I wondered what the chances of seeing any Puffins or other seabirds that might not frequent Essex where I live? I'll be going over on the ferry, and then travelling to Ventnor. Won't have a lot of time to look about, but does anyone know what my chances would be, or if there is a good place to look.

I'm afraid I don't rate your chances of seeing any puffins on the island. I believe there was a colony here at some point but probably about 100 years ago. Some are seen irregularly but certainly not a frequent sigthing. Your best bet would be to go down to the lighthouse at St Catherines and check out what passes by, its the southernmost point on the island.

A few sites to check out

The first is probably your best bet for daily sightings and often will have sightings from St Catherines usually Spring time
