In my never ending search for my first Purple finch I submit these pictures. Not sure if picture is of the same bird because there was a group of 4 that started on the fence and then flew into the tree before departing shortly after. Thanks.

Sorry but I think this is house finch. See, for example, the strong flank streaks, brown uppers and curved upper surface to the bill

Another point in favour of House Finch is the narrow white wing bars – these should be reddish on a Purple Finch.

There's no streaking on the breast only on the lower belly and I'm still calling it a Purple Finch.
