Rarest bird you have seen in the UK? (1 Viewer)

In terms of the number of records in Britain.....there are only 3 I have seen which have less than 10 records in Britian..

1. Long Toed Stint...this year...which will be the 3rd record?
2. White Tailed Lapwing at Blacktoft - less than 10 records?
3. Baikal Teal - Marshside 2013 - less than 10 records?

I have not been to see any of the megas this year other than the 2 on my list.

Rarest breeding bird ....that would need research

2. Belted Kingfisher as of December 2021

I've already said Golden-winged Warbler and Least Tern, but the Naumann's Thrush at Chingford was a pretty good tick. At the recreation ground, waiting in a dark and virtually silent crowd for the dawn to break. Then “To the right of the goalposts, going left…”. A superb bird, and seeing it so perfectly was one of those experiences which make twitching worthwhile (not that I do it now, I'm old and flatbound :( ).

My rarest is got to be the white tailed lapwing and American robin. The rarest bird I’ve ever seen is a citrine wagtail in Gran Canaria, from all data I can find it seems to be the first for the island and I managed to find and ID it myself… though it turns out the bird had been seen in the months before and afterwards- wouldn’t find this out until 4 years later.
