Ruff? (UK) (1 Viewer)

I agree with Wheatearlp,
It's a 1cy Dunlin. Please note
  • Black legs, would be yellowish or more rarely orangey in a Ruff, or even more rarer darkish, but still coloured
  • yes, difficult to judge in a single picture, but the head is too large in relation to the body for a Ruff. Adding to a compact shape in your bird, while a Ruff is more Sandpiper Tringa like. IHOP that's understandable.
  • many Ruffs in winter/basic/female type plumage have yellowish/yellowishcream or warm buffish underparts
