screech owl. (1 Viewer)

Earlier I had put up a thread about a screech owl that had taken up nesting in a box I had put up. For two weeks a grey one was seen in the hole toward the evening hours. The red one had not been seen for weeks. Now I have not seen any but the starlings that have came back look into the box but will not go inside and leave quickly. Has anyone studied the screech owl. Is it safe to assume that one is nesting in the box. There was a red phase and a grey phase that I had noticed four weeks ago in the box.
