Swarovski ATS 65 and Gitzo (1 Viewer)

I've finally bought my new system !
Remit was light as possible with reasonable performance, to be my only scope.
Total weight - 3.15kg - is this good ?

I toyed with the ATC, but dismissed it as possibly a bit wonky attaching to tripod and too much a compromise in poor light.
l love the Gitzo - looks amazing with carbon and magnesium finish, and the head (second-hand) is smooth yet stiff enough to stop the scope drooping downwards.

My only gripe is the need for a plate.
The scope foot has AS written on it which I assume stands for Arca Suisse, and the brochure states it fits the Swarovski CTH head which is Arca Suisse compatible.
So I wonder if the Gitzo head is NOT Arca Suisse? It's a lot wider than the scope foot.
Should I splurge and get the CTH?

The plate saves wear on the scope foot so personally I wouldn’t bother trying to find an alternative.

Great setup!

Gitzo make brilliant tripods, and the Mountaineer looks perfect for that scope.

congratulations to your new scope, how is the view?

PS: I don't think the Gitzo heads are A-S compatible - here is a video for converting some Gitzo ballheads to A-S. Not sure if that would work with the 1720 fluid head too...
