Tcon 1.7 or raynox dcr2020? (1 Viewer)

I'm planning to buy a teleconverter for my FZ8 to get (even) more zoom. I was trying to find information about the raynox DCR-2020 pro combined with this camera but I can't seem to find much info on it. Is there anybody here who tried this lens? Ore maybe even some test shots? I'm planning to use the lens on bird shots mainly so a little CA and softness in the corners isn't a big problem to me. Or do you guys think I should get the t-con 1.7 (olympus)?

Hope to here something from any of you soon...

Cheers Jeroen

Quite frankly I would go with an Olympus 1.7x Tele conversion. I rate it way way above the Raynox on my FZ20. You will be delighted it with and excellent value it is too. I also use the Olympus WA-con as well and that is every bit as good too.

Thanks for your reply Biffo. I've been reading about the raynox 2020 not beeing a good match for the duble digit FZ's but I've seen some amazing pictures taken with this lens mounted on an Nikon E8700 for instance (http://gallery.zoom.nl/image/116846/html/). So I think the 2020 isn't but it's just not a good combination with every camera. Maybe it does work well with the panasonic fz7/8 (single digit's). Are there people here who use this combination?

Greetings Jeroen

This was taken with the1.7 on my Oly550. I can't compare but I like the 1.7.
Hope this is of some help

I've just won a TCON-17 on ebay for my FZ18. Now all I need is the DMW-LA3 adapter- I have dropped a few hints to my OH so hoping I might get it for christmas! :)
