I was in the market for my first good binos and used this site for a lot of my research. I want to thank the members for all their good information on the Zen-Ray Primes and give Charles at Zen-Ray big Kudo's for his great customer support. I am very much a novice but am very happy with the 10X Primes.
I want to give you all a warning about S&S Archery. First I want to say this is the first time I have ever posted something like the following.
Don't purchase anything from S&S. I pre-ordered the 10X42 Primes from S&S Archery on July 6th hoping to get them for my wifes birthday by Aug 3. I accidently ordered the 8X at first and immediately tried to change the order. The S&S website wouldn't let me change the order (said they had already shipped or in process) so I called Steve at S&S. He was very polite and told me if I paid the difference between the two he would change the order. At this time he told me he should be getting his shipment from Zen-Ray at any time and my order should ship within a couple of weeks. I paid the difference via PayPal and he changed the order. After that he wouldn't answer my emails until he forwarded the Zen-Ray email with the tracking number. Shortly after, I received 8X not 10X on Aug 6th. Missed her birthday but she understood, I'm a luck man. Steve changed the description but not the model number and he doesn't actually stock/ship them. They are shipped directly from Zen-Ray. I know because of the forwarded email with the tracking number (it was signed Sincerely, Zen-Ray Optics) along with a comment that they (Zen-Ray) finally got the shipment out and apologizing for the long delay. After I received this shipment and it was 8X not 10X I sent him an email that I received the 8X and wanted to know how to exchange them for 10X. He replied that he specifically remembered me changing the order from 10X to 8X and had the credit back to my account showing this. I sent him a copy of my PayPal showing the opposite and asked again how to exchange. No reply for several emails. I then called and he said Zen-Ray would send me the exhange, then no communication. I emailed several times over several day and got no reply at all. On Aug 22 I sent one final email telling him as professionally but firmly as I could that I wanted to resolve this with him but if I didn't get a reply that day I would contact Zen-Ray directly to see if they would help resolve my issue. I actually waited a couple of days and then called Zen-Ray. I was lucky and Charles answered the phone (maybe he always does). He was very understanding and told me he would get the 10X shipped with a prepaid return. He also told me to try both the 8X and 10X and keep whichever ones my wife liked the best. They showed up in few days as he said they would. Again, A big thanks to Charles. I have not heard anything more from Steve at S&S Archery.
