The easy DIY eyecup mod for the Meostar 32mm you’ve been waiting for! (1 Viewer)

Been testing my b1+ and I have to say it's quite useless for me without an adaptation. I have to hover the eyecups a mm or 2 in front of my sockets to get a good view. I sure hope the rubber UV pieces come through, otherwise the €100 for full UV10x42 eyepiecea might even be worth it... As I found them better optical quality than my Conquest! Better resolution, contrast and clarity. Close focus is about 30cm/1ft longer, focusing a bit stiffer and slower than the very loose and fast Conquest but I find it gets me to good focus/sharpness better/more solid. Conquest might be better for Aeshnidae/damselflies, but the more compact Meostar better summer birding bins and travel companion (no 20/21mm needed anymore, I think, besides the gear itch).

Well, if Leica NL doesn't come through with the rubbers, on the Germany/Portugal. Still quite some time until summer.

If anyone in the meantime can point to a place with the UV eyecups (just the rubbers, no barrels) for sale, or anyone has spare rubbers, please let me know! Even 7x42s might be useful

Waiting for re-reply from Leica, I bought some cheap eyecup from amazon and they fit too. 36mm diameter, with a center smaller ring that pops right under the Meopta eyecup. Not exactly pretty, and the eyepieces can't be rotated downwards anymore, but it certainly solves the problem; I can pop them on my sockets without any blackouts in vision. Now to see if I have some caps laying around that fit on this... But happy I found at least some solution and can use these magnificent bins in the field!
