I would say it is a Diamondback terrapin (Malaclemys terrapin). It's a nice looking thing, never saw one when I was there.
 
Yup deff a diamond back and its hard to say about sex without seeing the claws and tail!

Great Picture Diamond backs are truly gorgeous turtles
