Message from Ellie at the Trust re the work that is shortly to take place at both Moors & Flashes.

"Aquatic Solutions will be out from first thing Monday. I’ll be there at 8am to meet them and get them set up.

Their plan is to be at the Moors for the first two weeks until the 8th. They will then move to the Flashes on the 11th until 19th. This is obviously subject to change depending on how things go but they will let me know as soon as they can if timings shift. They will only be working weekdays so the weekends will have no disturbance."

Great to meet Ian and Jimbo today. Afternoon particularly good weather :) Ducks particularly good, there were also some pochard.

A reminder for anyone thinking of visiting the reserve ober the next 3-4 weeks. Work has now started at the Moors.
 
Highlights from this morning;
Sailing Pool - 8 Great Crested Grebe and a juvenile Goosander dropped in briefly
Flashes - 2 Dunlin, c100 Lapwing, just the 5 Curlew still, 2 Bullfinch, Chiffchaff by Water Rail Hide
Moors - Black Swan (!) reported briefly, 5 Pochard, 3 Shelduck, 2 Snipe (MIW & AJP)
Checked Webbs for Waxwing but none - yet!
Note works still underway at the Moors

I saw the Black Swan fly over the flashes , about 10.45 am , with a Mute Swan .
