Which Benro Gimbal Head (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I've been looking around for a better tripod setup to go with a Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500mm lens. I've settled on the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 tripod with a Benro Gimbal head (either GH2 or GH5 Carbon) but I'm undecided on whether the carbon head is worth the extra money.

Does anyone have any personal experience that might help me make a decision?

Also, any thoughts from people with the same camera / lens setup based on their tripod / head setup.

Thanks.

It is all about the weight.
Are you going to be walking long distances with your set up on your shoulder?
A pound doesn't sound much but it can put an ache in your neck after awhile, especially if it is there when you reach your destination and you have the walk back to look forward to.

A gimbal might be an overkill for that setup, but if you really want one, as John said, it is a matter of weight. I personally wouldn't go CF unless I would change my gear in a short term.
