That's the strap from my M5, prefer a thinner, more flexible leather for the camera but works great for the bino and the eyepiece cover is from the Zeiss 8X30 Safari which stays put much better than the one intended for the 10X40.

Not technically binoculars today, but one of the few monoculars I've found that I like. The original non-B Zeiss Oberkochen 8x30. Not sure of exact age but older than me (and in better shape 😉). Wide field and excellent resolution with a very good sweet spot. Minimal eye- relief but as a non-glasses wearer that's not a problem. Easily used one handed too.

Just had an amazing sighting (for me) from sitting here at my computer desk - White-crowned sparrow landed on the lawn and I grabbed my 8x42 EDG and had a great look. It's a lifer for me (still a novice birder). They don't live here, it was likely a migrant heading north.

Sorry...no pics...I was pretty excited though. It pays to check the sparrows - I looked at hundreds of chipping sparrows & white-throated sparrows & song sparrows in order to see this one

I was apprehensive about buying 2 pair of binos in the same size - 8x42 - but I can see the benefit, now I can leave one in my office full-time for window action

Watching greylag geese, common shelduck, oystercatchers, heron, swans and a nearby red kite. Also spotted a cormorant behind me in the bay. Curlews and cranes to be seen here too, but not this morning

Along some very rough coastline today in search of Sand Martins, which I eventually found well off the beaten path. Difficult to photograph them with my ancient Sony point-and-shoot (see below right), but watched them for an hour or so with the MHG 10x30

My Leica 10x25 is on a trip to Portugal for repair and since i gave my 8x20 away and wanted something small and light today i took the little Nikon Micron 6x15 with me. No regrets at all, what a sharp sweet little binocular. If you can handle it and know to place it correctly to your eyes its a revelation in compactness and image quality. With a big thank you to @Binocollector because i saw this little bird for the first time in one of his posts.

Those are so cool. I don't know where or how, but I've used a pair of those before. Neat little things.

Backyard loop in northernmost Germany with the Svbony SA205 10x42 (if you've ever wondered how to pronounce 'Nikon' then Svbony is a whole new kettle of fish).
This area is mostly hedgerows and extensive pasture with a a few ponds. No bird surprises, but I was able to observe a chiffchaff for quite a while, cute as a button.

Which binocular did I use today? Well, I attended a car show for a few hours. That show was adjacent an area I enjoy birding. Throwing the Leica Ultravid 8x20 case on my belt could be ignored through the whole car show and then gave a fine birding outing after the car show.
