I suspect this is a Chestnut Woodpecker, but the spots on the wings are something I am not seeing in photos online. Is this a red herring, or am I wrong in my ID? Seen in a canopy tower.

Without certainty, suggest better for waved (scale-breasted). There are some images of chestnut with odd dark flecks but here they're quite extensive. I also wonder about things like relationship between wings and tail (although latter is often heavily abraded); tail seems to project further on waved—as here.
