Buteo burmanicus

Identification

Distribution

Found in the Himalayas from northeast Pakistan through India, Nepal and Bhutan. Also in adjacent southern Tibet.

Taxonomy

Formerly considered conspecific with Japanese Buzzard and Common Buzzard. Still regarded as a part of Common Buzzard by Clements.
There is some confusion abouth the scientific name and refectus is probably the correct one. However the Opus awaits a consensus of the major worldlists.
This is a monotypic species.
