• Blackish upperparts
• Silvery-azure streak from mantle to rump
• White neck-flash with rufous tip
• White throat
• Pale rufous underparts
• Blue band across chest
• Black bill

Distribution

South-east Asia: found in Indochina, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Brunei, Borneo, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Sumatra and Java

Taxonomy

There are 2 subspecies:

• A. e. peninsulae:

• Southern Myanmar, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo

• A. e. euryzona:

• Java

Habitat

Rocky streams and rivers in secondary equatorial rainforests and mangroves.

Behaviour

The diet includes crustaceans, insects and small reptiles.
