Plants to attract birds (1 Viewer)

what are the easiest and best species of plant/flower to grow in the garden to attract birds and other wildlife?

at the moment we have some cotoneaster shrubs, a goat willow tree, honeysuckle , lilac, and I have planted spring bulbs in hope they'll grow this spring. are any of the plants in my garden useful to the wildlife already?

I've mentioned it before following a response in British Birds many many moons ago by none other than Guy Mountfort (if you haven't heard of him you're not a birder). He recommended Lycesteria (Himalayan honeysuckle) I've got lots in my garden and the berries are a rich source of food from late summer right up til now when the Bullfinches seem to find something left.
