Owl Webcams 2010 (1 Viewer)

Anyway, HUGE kudos to MarjorieM, raptorluver, and Ann for doing something constructive and effective to help the plight of both the Wallies nestbox for next year, and our current mama and babes in San Marcos.

....and of course we're expecting a "scorcher" today, wouldn't you know it?

goodbirdie and cosworthlady, even though the mist blows this way and that, I just saw it swirl around and blow by the door of the owl box, even though it does that, and it is a very hot day, our owls are very much more comfortable than they were. They look warm, not desperate. Good work, girls! :) especially you Ann, you wonderful lady you! With the mist swirling all around it is working as well as can be expected, and our lovely owls benefit. He turned it on very early for them, and these next 3 days are supposed to be scorchers, so I am very thankful he finally responded to your suggestions and installed it. Happy, happy me. :)

It was your suggestion to me. I'd never heard of a mister til the weekend lol. I love the passion you, marjory and birdie have. I wish there were more like you all in the world.

just checked in on Molly and yes she looks hot and the chicks are flat out but you're right they look really comfy today.

Well, relatively comfy, eh? It is brutal hot today, and will be for 2 more so
they are forecasting. These inland valleys up against the mountains where I
suspect these owls are, are as hot as the desert. So.....we'll pray they stay "cool enough", and I will be grateful for that. How is your weather today? My goodness, it's already night there, I should have said how was your weather today.

I miss our Osprey, they've all gone! We shall wish them a successful jouney, especially our two younsters who will really be going on instinct, no experience to back them up. Lady should be at her winter grounds by now, yes?

The Brucies are looking adorable this morning.

They are so big, beautiful and COOL looking in their little grotto! Unlike the
2 little ones in their box.....well the mister is going, and today will be a scorcher, and mom is roosting outside, so we will see how they do.

The Bruces are splendid looking birds, aren't they?

You know? Raptorluver, I just checked quickly on the Molly cam and saw the two little ones alone in the box, and knowing what a hellish hot day it's going to be today, I decided I can't watch them for hours on end. I'll check in occasionally, probably, just to satisfy myself that they're at least still alive.

The Brucies! From homely little babies (sorry, but barn owlets are a little homely, haha) to GORGEOUS near-adults. They will be fledging soon, if they haven't already. I just adore them.

i'm pleasantly suprised by the two chicks in mollys box. They are not panting. Molly is awol but she won't be far. Only one mouse was delivered last night by dad so both parents will have to up their game real soon to feed their growing bairns. Glad it looks a lot cooler so far. :)

The little ones are at their ugliest, awkward stage before they start flight feathers, which is also an ugly stage. Not only will it be a hellish hot day, the host family is gone for the day incase the mister stops or some such thing happens. Sigh. Yeah, don't watch much.

Back to the Bruces....what magnificent young owls they have become!

Do you really think they only got one mouse last night? That doesn't seem enough, does it? I wonder if there *is* a shortage of prey around there!
