How is your 2013 List Going? (1 Viewer)

Both crossbills were reported here on New Year's Day at a local cemetery here in Saint Joseph. They have been here every day since. Lots of people have come here to see them. One lady drove up from Fayetteville, Arkansas to get her "lifer" White-winged Crossbill. I asked her, "You drove all the way up here for that?". She said, "We yes, it was a lifer and Missouri is closer than Canada!" I am glad she got to see it.

:t: It was nice to meet you! Quite a long day of driving, but it was worth it. I've missed that species every time I've been to the North Woods.

I'm at 70 for the year.

I had no idea that you were a BirdForum member, Abby. I will have to check on some of your other posts, especially the ones concerning Ecuador. A couple of years ago I went on a birding trip down there. I was there for two weeks and got a lot of lifers. Had a great time there. Ted Vawter (Saint Joseph native) now living in the Baltimore, MD area is going down in February, mostly in the Rio Napo area, I believe. Perhaps you could give him a few pointers on how to find and ant swarms and all those antbirds!

Went birding this morning and it was absolutely slow--almost no birds wherever I went. It wasn't until I got home that I got a year bird at my feeders, putting me up to 75 for the year.
