Cornwall Birding (4 Viewers)

Loads of stuff in the county yesterday! Apologies for the late updates on the website. Currently sorting out the 2012 Report and more dates for this years pelagics!! Anyway, in brief: Pacific Diver seen again off Penzance, Ring-billed Gull at Bude, Lesser Scaup and RN Duck on Bodmin Moor, Glaucous Gull still in mounts Bay and a host of other scarcities and winter stuff!! A very full report on the main website!

Went looking for the elusive Connor Downs Turtle Dove again on Tuesday. Cycled 5 miles and spent ages looking around & getting freezing cold with no success. Plenty of Collared Doves near the builders.

Anyway cycled back, got cold again (and knackered going up the hills) only to find out it reappeared around the time I was there or just after!

Very frustrating!

Had to go several times to Drift for the last one, before I connected with it but at least it was warmer and I wasn't cycling.

Good Luck

Isles of Scilly Travel

Am I reading the website correctly - i.e. there are no flights to the islands from October to March. Has it always been like that - I was sure people flew during October?

There will be Skybus flights from Land's End, Newquay and Exeter airports. Also the Scillonian will be sailing until the 2nd November. A new feature this year will be 10 sunday sailings in july and august. The ship has had a major refit this winter and will start the season on 25th March.
