Hi there,
Was down by the River Tyne in Haddington, East Lothian and spotted this duck amongst a group of mostly mallards. Would love some help with an ID, apologies on the poor photo quality.
Distinguishing features were its yellow beak, russet red breast and light grey “cap” on its head. The image is “blown out” but think is shows duck had a much lighter body and the ducks around it. Not a lot of contrast either in the body feathers
Ducks are a bit of a blind spot for ID’ing for me but actively trying to get better so apologies if this is an obvious one. Couldn’t see a comparable one in my RSPB guide book.
Many thanks!
