April Moths (2 Viewers)

It’s not everyday that one gets a lifer before leaving the bedroom for trap inspection!
Only another one of these “frequent common moths found in London and the South East” which I’ve just seen for the first time in c20 years…..Waved Umber!😮
Rant over…at the trap my 3rd Muslin Moth (seemingly more numerous than in the past?)
Red-green Carpet, 2 Nut-tree Tussock and c6 Pugs mostly Brindled…those that didn’t escape that is.

Another exciting trap overnight with my first ever Least Black Arches (macro number 401) and NFY Figure of Eighty, Knot Grass, Powdered Quaker, V-Pug and Esperia sulphurella.

A Great Prominent, Lime Hawk-moth, Nut-tree Tussock, Lunar Marbled Brown, 2 Pale Mottled Willow, Early Grey and Common Quaker provided additional interest at a variety of levels.

One from yesterday that I hadn't mentioned due to late identification was Caloptilia robustella, not the first garden record but not frequent either.

A few from this morning. I think the Pugs are Brindled and Currant (although it's early for the latter, possibly I'm overlooking something more obvious).

The Caterpillar seems to be a Lesser Yellow Underwing.

I got that hold the front page feeling when I clicked the year's first Hawk-moth this morning. Eyed! Second garden record, as was Brindled Beauty. A few other bits and pieces too, but all seriously eclipsed.
