33 moths of 19 species here this morning.
Nothing at all hinting at migration but eight NFY including Flame Carpet, Riband Wave, Mottled Rustic and Straw Dot. A 'Gold Triangle' was my earliest ever by eight days.
Steve

Just 9 of presumed 9 species last night (4 got out before I could catch them), the remainder were made up of -
Small Mottled Willow, White Ermine,
Buff Tip, Willow Beauty and Maiden’s Blush. Can only improve, received my new 20w black light, am β€œcurrently” awaiting my new extension cable and clamp attachment due any day now…am quivering with anticipation.πŸ˜‚

Dusky Brocade, Peppered Moth, Hedya nubiferana and Notocelia roasecolana all NFY this morning, plus Angle-barred (Ash) Pug if I can convince myself that's what it is.
My garden year list is only 60 but this is when things normally improve.

Funnily enough mine is only 63 at this point (with away moths making up 79) and I was thinking that was a bit light, maybe it isn't.

Cheers

John

With 5 additions overnight (Common Lutestring, Gold Spot, Flame, Grey Pug & Large Yellow Underwing), I'm on 89 (macros) for the year, pretty much neck and neck with last year.

I am still only catching small numbers, even when conditions seem Ok like they were last night.
Just 15 of 10, with 3NFY: White-shouldered House Moth, Light Emerald (my earliest record by nine days) and Beautiful Hook-tip (earliest record by four days).

The moon was quite big last night, even so am not complaining. 13 of 15 to include my 3rd Mocha, 4th Blotched Emerald and NFY Scorched Wing + a couple of sp.

Does anyone feel that moth (and alongside that butterfly and bee) numbers are down this year? I don't tend to keep year on year mothing records but it feels like numbers and varieties caught in trap are very down and I have also noticed that butterfly and bee numbers in the garden seem very low. Just interested if it is just where I am or a more general feeling.

I would suggest that I’m about par for the course regarding moths, compared to last yearπŸ‘
