    During a Pelagic trip in Kaikoura, New Zealand, this guy was hanging behind the boat. In Kaikoura you can see all kinds of seabirds at very close distance. This one, for example, bit me in my finger, when I was trying how close I could get. They bite hard :(!!

    Not many people have seen this bird. The Rarotonga Monarch or Kakerori was thought to be extinct untill in 1980 people discovered 20 birds on Rarotonga (Cook Isls.). Thanks to a succesfull recovery plan there are about 250 birds. Jack http://www.dwaalgast.nl
