Pictures taken in Key Largo in November
P1030695 Hampton Inn grounds am. Think it might be a Downy Woodpecker as it was so small.
P1030940 John Pennekamp grounds, by the beach. Is this a Sapsucker?

Hi there

This is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. I cannot tell the sex as the photos are a wee bit too dark for my eyes

Assuming they're two different birds, but both are yellow-bellied sapsuckers.

Agree on Sapsucker. An easy way to differ these birds from other woodpeckers is the bold white wing patch visible in both photos.

Rapala - Thanks for telling us how this is different from a Downy Woodpecker! Those little things will help me to identify them later.
