Can anyone, preferably owners, share their thoughts on the Leica Apo Televid 82 with the 25-50 eye piece? Seen a used one at a decent price and wondering if there any any known issues with this particular model I should be looking out for. Thanks in advance

I own One and I am very pleased with. For a time, I had both the New Diascope 85 and the Televid 82. As for the Binoculars, there is No perfect instruments and all the top Scopes have their pros and cons....besides quality variations amongst each model...That being said, I am giving you these links, have a look and keep in touch

Hi thanks for the response. I've ended up with a used Swarovski ATS 80 HD which I hope will be delivered today or tomorrow. I realise it doesn't come off too well in one of those links but that opinion does seem in the minority. I already a pair 10x42 EL's and can't fault them. Also I'm very impressed with the after sales service of Swarovski so in the end I went for the ats 80 hd. The price was quite a bit cheaper too. The Leica still looks to be a very impressive scope. Thanks again for the response and enjoy.

Ben MacDonald's review above reminds me of the lyrical mumbo-jumbo one reads in hi-fi magazines.
He claims to be able to see resolution differences in the Leica and Kowa at 30x magnification and attests the Diascope freedom from CA, a characteristic that becomes very visible halway to the field edge.
Hope Henry didn't read it. It would give him a heart attack!

John,

I hadn't read that, so thanks for the heads-up. I slogged through it without any major medical issues, but I can't decide what was more irritating: the silly content or the awful font.
