Both taken in Oman around Muscat in December. Please help ID.
MY best guest: Northern Wheatear & Sparrow - I don't know!

The wheatear is a red-tailed wheatear.

for the Sparrow though, it's not a House Sparrow ..

I'm wondering if the "sparrow" could be a finch? Could it be an rather displaced Yemen Linnet? Though the pp looks a little short. Unfortunately not the best pics...

I think a washed out or underlit (depending on which pic we are talking about) Striolated bunting is the best fit.

Now Tib has mentioned it, I also think it is a female type striolated bunting. They are resident in the area.
