Sparrow or Crow?
I am tempted to pop to minsmere tomorrow whilst I enjoy some time off work, is there a link to see recent sightings other than the simplified versions available via the mainstream wildlife website?

Many thanks

BB

I think they may be burning vegetation on the scrape tomorrow..don't know on what scale and therefore how far it would impinge on birding pleasure tho'...

Here we are (it was a tweet)-

"Habitat management news: we'll be burning vegetation on the Scrape tomorrow (Wed) as we continue to get the habitat ready for next spring"

Hi BB

If you're on twitter follow @RSPBMinsmere otherwise blog here http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/m/minsmere/sightings.aspx but not very up to date. You get a sheet on what was there yesterday from reception and "spotters" are about during the day.

From @RSPBMinsmere for today:

Highlights today: little ringed plovers, avocets, common & green sandpipers, greenshanks, ruffs & lots of teal on Scrape, yellow wagtail

They were burning last Wednesday on the scrape.

I went on Saturday and saw all the above mentioned despite the heavy rain. I like to get there early and avoid the crowds & got in the car park at 7 to find a herd of red deer grazing in there and around the work buildings, nice to see them so close up.

As I was first into some of the hides that day I got eaten alive by the mozzies so wear some decent midge repellent.

Have fun :)
