Discussion thread for Abyssinian Scimitarbill.

================
Clements: Abyssinian Scimitar-bill
S&M: Abyssinian Scimitar-bill
H&M: Abyssinian Scimitarbill
IOC: Abyssinian Scimitarbill

Tie-breaker??

D

IOC would be the tie-breaker if the other three don't agree. As a majority of the first three agree with Scimitar-bill the whole family should be changed (as the taxonomy templates already are).

Thanks André, not quite got the hang of all this yet! I've re-named all three Scimitar-bills now

Actually, it's not a Green Woodhoopoe on that photo (contrary to my original comment under it, too), but it's not an Abyssinian Scimitarbill either! It's a Black-billed Woodhoopoe. As Nigel Redman (one of the authors of the new Birds of the Horn of Africa) recently pointed out when he was presented with this exact photo, Black-billed Woodhoopoe of the northern race P. s. abyssinicus sometimes are red-billed. I have corrected the name + added a brief note on it.
