Many Russian binoculars have yellow additional eyepiece filters, which do actually seem to make the moon look sharper, although I prefer views without the filters.
Even without the filters the view is a bit yellow.
Birdwatchers seem to like colour free optics, but astronomers never seem to comment on slight colour shades.
Barr and Stroud binoculars had an integral filter wheel.
Astronomers use colour filters to bring out planetary details, and these definitely help users, although I rarely bothered.
French cars used to have yellow headlights, although I thought that driving at night in France was strange.
Nowadays the intense blue LED headlights are thought to pose hazards to peoples eyes.
I hate LED lamps.
Recently 100W LED, so called security lights, are being sold. Even 20W LED similar lamps are awful creations
of a world gone mad.
A portable LED traffic light recently used here had reasonable red, orange and green colours visually, but to my camera the colours were definitely weird and not red, orange and green.
People talk about red stars or Mars being red. They aren't. Just compare them to passing aircraft wing tip lights.
