Mystery skull (1 Viewer)

I have been sent these images of a tideline skull washed up here in Shetland a couple of years (!) ago. There is nothing in the images to give scale, but the finder estimated (and I quote) "the length from the clean end to where the seaweed starts is 12-15 cm"

Any takers?

Hugh

Have to admit I spent a while browsing for marine mammal skeletons before the penny dropped.

Amazing what an overwhelming effect context can have. :)
