I'm leaning large female Sharp-shinned on this one. Its streaking is light orange-brown and blotchy, and its head is round and small and has a prominent pale supercilium.
 
The question was more to rule out a goshawk ;) We also thought it looked crazy big at first; later it flew off and we concluded it was probably a Cooper's, but wanted a third opinion before completely discarding Gos :)
