Snowy Owl this weekend in Illinois. I promise I wont over post lol. It was an amazing experience, however as I was photographing one which is rare enough in my area and then he got into a battle with another male! Once in a lifetime beautiful sunset session for me.
In Jan My husband and I found a "Wing Tagged" female. We reported her to find out where she was from. She is from the USA and her name is "Azgone". She is about 6 yrs old. So we decided we would try again yesterday...we found her. Was SO exciting.

You can distinguish a female SO from a male if there are dashes in the middle secondary feathers (not dots as in a male; compare this with the dots in the photo of the male at http://www.birdforum.net/opus/images/3/3f/SnowyGrassFlight.jpg). Check that out in this photo.
