a good listing software for my lifelist (1 Viewer)

Hi from Costa Rica. After many birding trips around the globe I got a list of birds that is impossible to handle to me. It is simply impossible to be updated on all the taxonomy changes (splits/lumps) so I dont know for sure how big my lifelist is. I keep my lifelist in a excel spreadsheet (yeah, jurassic times).
The only information I keep is english name and country. I am not looking for anything sophisticated. Just a program that keeps itself automatically updated in world taxonomy.
Ebird doesnt work. I started with my ducks of the world. My third bird in the list was a common duck I saw in the UK and it was not in the list. Same thing for Taiwan. So I inmediately stop.
I was tempted to buy Birder´s Diary but is $ 152 and I dont know if it works and it looks complicated to use.
Anything you recommend? I has not to be free necessarily, but easy to use and updated.

Give Scythebill a try. It's free! With a bit of fiddling you should be able to import your spreadsheet data. It was updated with the latest IOC taxonomy a couple of days ago. The author is very responsive to queries etc. https://www.scythebill.com

I second Scythebill - been using it for a few months after changing from another software and am very impressed.

Bubo is good too for keeping a simple list. It's free and updates taxonomic changes

Another vote for Scythebill, the owner is very proactive in keeping up to date and the site itself is easy to use.

It also provides downloadable lists for every country and once you input your data, the next list you open or download, will highlight for you, all your potential ticks in that country. You can use either Clements or IOC taxonomy at the click of a mouse and all races are shown with a description of the range of each to help you decide which you've seen.

You can add your own notes to each species and even add your own photos and after every update, it's easy to see what you've gained or lost so it's important to keep all those races identified where possible.

Depending on the size of your list, it can be a real task, inserting all your data but you can include as much or as little as you want, up to you but once it's all done, it's a great set up.

There are also other lists incorporated including some butterflies and a World, mammal list.
