Grafham Water 25 Sep, evening; a visit to try to see the reported 'hybrid' Baikal Teal type off Plummer Carpark.
Eventually seen just before dusk with a few Teal, Gadwall and Shoveler but only briefly as the ducks were distant and in and out of the willows; no photos possible. Obviously not a Teal and showing faint male Baikal type markings. So what features point to hybrid? There can't be many birders experienced in eclipse Baikal Teals in the UK. Hope for better views tomorrow.
