I was trying some dslr-scoping today, and was pleasantly surprised. The set-up was 1DsII with 50mm lens on a swaroski 80hd with 20-60 eye-piece set at 20*, connected with a DCA. The camera was handheld as the combined weight was a bit much for the tripod head - if I start to do this a lot I will have to make up a balnce bar.

What do you guys think?

The shallow depth of field bothered me a bit - ideally at least the head of the female would be sharp as well as the drake, but I guess that's just a consequence of extreme telephoto work. In brighter light, I might try stopping down the 50mm a bit, but I dont think that would change the DOF appreciably, just slow things down and hence cause motion blur.
