Just spent 2 days at Hattah looking for Mallee emu wren and Striated grass wren, but missed out on both. got Chestnut quail thrush (awesome bird) Crested bellbird etc.

has anyone seen these two lately up there?

You have picked 2 of the hardest birds to find in the area.
I have got both and got them this year but because I am close by I can head there quite often.

And both of them were found only by chance and not to where people say they are.
So I just think you have to be lucky on your day out there pure and simple as that.
