Hi I am new to this forum.

I paint birds and just starting to photograph them .
I have invested in a Tripod : Manfrotto 190GO - Aluminium
but need a simple head/ quick release.
The tripod is not for a camera but in fact to support a wooden art briefcase horizontally. No tilt or ball head required.
As the top of this tripod is circular, can I fit direct a https://amzn.eu/d/7u66gJj

Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Tilt Head with Quick Release , Black

or preferably a

Manfrotto 323 Rectangular Quick Release Plate but this is rectangular

I cant change the tripod.
any advice please thank you

You can mount any head to your tripod that has a matching size thread. Your tripod has a 3/8"-16 thread.

Whichever head that you choose I assume that you will be attaching the head to your briefcase somehow. Have you considered something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Coret-Proj...ix=tripod+platform+3/8,electronics,302&sr=1-6 ?

This would screw directly on to the threads on your tripod legs. The only down side is that it isn't quick-release, if it needs to be portable.

You could, however, attach a quick-release coupling directly to the tripod and a matching QR plate to the platform. There's no shortage of inexpensive solutions.
