Herring Gull? March 2023 Sparks NV (1 Viewer)

I saw this gull yesterday March 25th) at a place called Sparks Marina in Nevada where over 1000 gulls can often be seen. My first thought was a Ring-billed Gull but now I'm wondering if it is an immature Herring Gull. A few Herring gulls overwinter here and most are gone by April. Any insights would be appreciated! Kathy

Glad I asked. Thanks to both of you!! Since the predominant bird at the Marina right now is the California Gull it makes tons of sense. The shape looks right I just got confused by the immature colors. Kathy
