Hello everyone, I'm a wildlife conservationist who rarely gets to the field these days, but thankfully it's easy to get out into nature here in NI

What brought me here are the useful reviews on binoculars. I have a wonderful pair of Swarovski EL 8.5 x 42 from my field days, but I think it's time to find something more compact and lightweight for weekend bike trips. I appreciate all the sharing of expertise in these forums, and know I'll learn a lot from you all :)

If I decide to try and sell/swap my beloved bins, I'll post in the classified section, but for now I'll be browsing and enjoying feeling nostalgic about my binocular-related wildlife moments 😆

Hi elusiveant and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

What a lovely welcome to this community - thank you, all! I appreciate your friendly messages

My birding skills are pretty rusty - my most active birding was as a member of the YOC 3 decades ago 😲 so I'm unlikely to report anything exciting. My fieldwork was mammal-focussed and in the tropics, but now I have the delights of learning to identify UK avifauna all over again 😅

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
