Well not used to introducing myself but...
I'm 62, moved 2 years ago to my 2 acres and house next to the Organ Mountains by Las Cruces near El Paso. The Organ Mountains may be the place that went from l just a place to National Monument to just a place the fastest in history. Or close. And I'm at the foot of them at the boundary, if it remains.
On moving here, I discovered BIRDS! Well I'd seen a bird before, but suddenly it was like wildlife with so many kinds playing around my house and even coming into the house. Lots of Cactus Wrens and Curved Beak Thrashers (what singers on the rare occasions they do so1) Western Meadowlarks (I think). I bought some books and use my old K-Mart Focal 7-15x35 binoculars. but they aren't in great shape after 35 years. So I bought some Nikon Action 7-15x35s. They seem like junk but I don't know enough to know....so I came here. I'm thinking of buying some old Japanese 7x50s on Ebay. But I don't know what's good and what's not. So I googled and found this forum, and will ask for some guidance if I can find the right forum to ask on. g
Anyway, a toast to you all, and I look forward to discussions. I seem to have developed binocular obsession over the last few months.
