damn it, got here too late and what I was going to say has already been said! two superb pieces, both very different, both enormously successful

Here's a bewick's wren that I posted in the gallery yesterday. Although it's small at 10" x 8", this one took a while because of the reeds and all of the intertwining with each other and the deadfall. B :)

Excellent as always Peter. I know how much work it is to paint reeds or grass like that so hats off to you for persevering till the end for a really worthwhile result.

Mike

I, on the other hand, have no idea how long it takes to paint with such detail and precision - but I share the previous commentators' appreciation of the finished work. A lovely little captured moment of light and form - beautiful.

Thanks everybody, here are some mule deer in low evening light. The lighting in the background didn't come through quite right in the photography though.

two more superb ones, though I never even attempt to paint reeds with such precision, I can appreciate the headache they present - lovely work.

Crikey Peter, you really know how much to say and what to leave out! This is a pure and sublime image - thoroughly gorgeous in its simplicity.
