I was at one of the few sites that the RSPB have always been happy to publicise - the car park at Broadsands beach, Paignton. They get fed in winter and come in from breeding sites elsewhere.

It wasn't a birding trip, but some birding was done. 30 years ago we hosted an exchange student from Brazil for a year, so this trip was a reunion. Her family had a beach house in Alcobaça, so there we were.
